Green Sustainability
- Recycling of papers, cans and plastics- All table lamps in the guestrooms are installed with energy saving bulbs- Guestroom toilet bowl cistern tank flushing systems are replaced with a mechanism that reduced the water used from 9 litres per flush to 4.5 litres per flush, saving about 50% of water cost per flush.- Water regulators are installed in all guestrooms shower heads and hand showers, reducing the water flow from 23 litres per minute to 12 litres per minute, saving about 50% of water cost.- Normal T8 fluorescent tubes used in the back-of-house offices are replaced with LED fluorescent tubes, saving about 65% of energy cost.- The Ecoglobal descaling system installed on the boiler water feed line eliminates the use of chemicals, which is commonly used to reduce water hardness. Hard water will cause corrosion of the water pipes and leads to a drop in efficiency. Without the use of chemical, it is environmentally friendly and reduced cost. - The IUT Global's Organic Waste Recycling initiative was implemented to collect kitchen waste to be recycled into Bio-compost.- In support of government initiatives, NEWater is used for the cooling tower, laundry and boiler in the hotel, helping to reduce cost.
